Ready to get hands-on with clay and learn the full pottery-making process?

Our 3-Week Beginner Wheel Throwing Pottery Course is designed for complete beginners as well as those who have tried the pottery wheel once or twice and want to build their skills.

Over three weeks, you'll experience the full ceramic process , from throwing on the wheel to trimming, hand-building, and glazing your own pieces. With small class sizes and plenty of hands-on instruction, you'll develop a strong foundation while creating functional, one-of-a-kind pottery to take home.

Class Details

• Week 1 – Wheel Throwing: Introduction to the studio, tools, and pottery wheel. Learn how to prepare and center clay, pull walls, and create basic forms such as cups and bowls.
• Week 2 – Trimming & Hand-Building: Learn how to trim and refine your wheel-thrown pieces, then explore hand-building techniques such as making and attaching handles, working with slabs, and using molds.
• Week 3 – Glazing: Learn the basics of glazing, explore our studio glaze options, and glaze your finished pieces. We'll also review the techniques and skills you've learned throughout the course.

What’s Included

• Half bag of clay (5 kg), tools, and glaze materials
• Up to 7–8 finished pieces, glazed and fired
• Hands-on instruction in a supportive small-group setting
• Use of studio tools and equipment
• All firings included
• Your glazed and fired pieces will be ready for pick-up approximately 2–3 weeks after the final class

This course is non-refundable.
Make-up classes are not available.
Rescheduling requests must be made at least 3 days in advance. Requests made with less than 3 days' notice are subject to a $35 rescheduling fee.
Aprons are provided.
Please wear comfortable clothing and keep your nails trimmed for the best experience at the pottery wheel.
